CLCP The Certified Literate Community Program (CLCP) promotes literacy in Georgia by involving entire communities. By making literacy a community-wide commitment, a broad variety of community resources are mobilized to promote and support literacy training. The CLCP is a business-education-government partnership resulting in improved literacy levels of children, families, and workers in an entire community. CLCP’s are active in Sumter, Crisp, and Schley Counties. Workplace Literacy Classes Business and industry employers may work with the local Adult Literacy Program to implement classes on site for employees. Often such classes include the teaching of particular basic educational skills to help the employee carry out his or her job more effectively. Many Georgia businesses have adapted to rapid economic change over the past few years by continuing their commitment to workplace learning for their employees. Through the Workplace Literacy Program, these organizations have impacted the lives of thousands of Georgians, resulting in more productive employees, a safer working environment, and better-informed community members. Call 229-931-2563 for more information on workplace class opportunities.
