South Georgia Technical College Financial Aid Specialist Sandy Larson of Americus has been named Human Resources Coordinator for SGTC, announced SGTC President Sparky Reeves recently. Larson will assume her new duties as Human Resources Coordinator in the Administrative Services department at South Georgia Tech once a new Financial Aid Specialist has been hired.

As Human Resources Coordinator, Larson will be responsible for coordinating employment, application and interviewing process, managing personnel functions, payroll processing, and employee training, among other duties.

“I look forward to this new challenge,” said Larson. “As a Financial Aid Specialist, I have been working directly with students. I have really enjoyed helping students with their financial aid needs and felt like I have created a bond with our students. In this new position, I will be transitioning from helping students to helping employees. It is a different skill set and I am looking forward to the new challenges,” said Larson.

Larson has been employed at South Georgia Tech in the Financial Aid department for the past three years. She has a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University. Previously, Larson was a Medical Staff Coordinator at Sumter Regional Hospital, a Paraprofessional Accountant at Schley County Health Department, and the Bookkeeper/Office Manager for Odum Sales.

Larson is married to Marty Larson and they have two daughters, Ashley and Anna Grace. They are members of Shiloh Baptist Church in Americus.
