Jets and Lady Jets arrive in Kansas for NJCAA National basketball tournaments

KANSAS - The South Georgia Technical College Jets and Lady Jets basketball teams arrived in Hutchinson and Salina, Kansas over the weekend and are ready to begin their run for the National Junior College Athletic Association men's and women's Division I national basketball titles.
The two teams arrived late Saturday night and were on the courts in their respective cities on Sunday morning working out a few jitters and preparing for their opening games of the tournaments on Tuesday. The Jets are ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division I men's national tournament and will play on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. central time. They will play the winner of the Harcum and Walters State game, which will be played on Monday at 2 p.m. The Jets game will be broadcast live on WISK-FM 98.7 beginning at 7:30 p.m. eastern time.
The Lady Jets are seeded eighth in the women's national tournament. They will play the winner of the Denmark Tech/Northwest Florida State game which will be played on Monday at 12 noon central time. The Lady Jets will play on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. central time. Their game will also be broadcast live on WISK-FM 98.7 beginning at 5:30 eastern time.
This is the first time that both teams have qualified for the national tournament during the same year in the 65 year history of South Georgia Technical College. The Jets had their initial appearance in the NJCAA national tournament in 2009 and the Lady Jets earned their first trip to the national tournament in 2010.
