SGTC Crisp County Center to host Community Resource Fair
The South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center Student Leadership Council will be hosting a Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, September 3rd from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the LaPorte Auditorium on the Crisp County Center campus on North Midway Road in Cordele.
The event is open to the community as well as to South Georgia Tech students. The Community Resource Fair is designed to allow the community and social organizations the opportunity to increase awareness and showcase support services. Some of the resources that will be showcased include: child care and support, transportation, health care, legal aid, banking, finance, and/or credit counseling, social services, and services for the disabled, shelters, or treatment programs.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn more about the clubs and organizations on the Crisp County campus such as the National Technical Honor Society, Phi Beta Lambda, SkillsUSA, and the Student Leadership Council.
Representatives from the South Georgia Technical College Career Services Department, the Workforce Investment Act Office and the Special Services/Disabilities Office will also be on hand. Other agencies expected to attend include: Adolescent Health and Youth Development, Children's Medical Services, Crisp Area Habitat for Humanity, Families in Action Mentoring Program, Georgia Center for Resources and Support, Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Healthy Families—First Steps, Innovative Senior Solutions, Keep Crisp Beautiful, Melody Godfrey Insurance Agency, Middle Flint Behavioral Health Care, Paxen Learning Corporation, Peach State Health Plan, Regions Bank, Right from the Start Medicaid Project, Salt of the Earth Community Enrichment Program, Voter Registration, and West Central Georgia Community Action Council.
