Valerie Winheim promoted to SGTC Resource Development/Marketing Coordinator

Valerie Hines Winheim of Americus has been promoted to Resource Development/Marketing Coordinator at South Georgia Technical College, announced President Sparky Reeves. Her promotion is effective immediately and she will continue to report to Vice President of Institutional Advancement Su Ann Bird.
Winheim joined the South Georgia Technical College Resource Development/Marketing office in February of 2008 as a Resource Development/Marketing Specialist. In the past six years, she has helped mold the South Georgia Technical College Resource Development/Marketing efforts which lead to national recognition for the college by the Collegiate Advertising Awards Association in 2013 and 2014.
“Valerie has been a tremendous asset to South Georgia Technical College and to the Resource Development/Marketing office, said South Georgia Technical College Vice President of Institutional Development Su Ann Bird. “I am very pleased that President Reeves has chosen to recognize her contribution with this promotion.”
As the SGTC Marketing Coordinator, Winheim will continue to handle the college’s advertising efforts with newspaper, radio, and television, as well as coordinate the layout and design of brochures, invitations, and catalogs for South Georgia Tech. She will also become more involved with the administrative duties for the marketing office.
Previously, Winheim was employed as a Graphic Designer at “I Care” Products & Services in Americus, Georgia as well as at the Americus Times-Recorder and The Americus Shopper.
Valerie currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sumter Players, is an ex-officio member of the Americus Sumter Tourism Council, and is involved in Leadership Sumter.
She is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Marketing. She and her husband, David, reside in Americus.
