SGTC President Expresses Condolences
South Georgia Technical College President Sparky Reeves expressed his regret over the death of one of South Georgia Technical College’s students, James Stanford Robertson, II, who was killed in Norfolk, Virginia recently.
“Obviously our entire campus was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our students,” said South Georgia Technical College President Sparky Reeves. “James Robertson, II, was an outstanding student and had been enrolled in the Industrial Electrical Technology program on the Americus campus. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff at South Georgia Technical College, I would like to extend our condolences to his family and friends.”
Robertson died in Norfolk, Virginia; from injuries that he sustained from what police believe to be an encounter with gang members from that area. He was visiting relatives as part of his summer vacation.
Robertson enrolled at South Georgia Technical College in Fall 2006 after graduating from Tri-County High School and had completed three quarters in the Industrial Electrical Technology program. His father, James Stanford Robertson, is also a student at South Georgia Tech. He is enrolled in the welding program.
