High School Programs:
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) offers the following postsecondary credit opportunities for high school students:
ACCEL gives Georgia high school students an opportunity to enroll in college and take college academic courses. Successful completion of coursework will earn students both college credits and high school units. To be eligible for ACCEL, a student must meet all Georgia and U.S. citizenship requirements for HOPE Program eligibility. Residency and citizenship eligibility will be determined by South Georgia Technical College.

ACCEL is not available during the summer term. The ACCEL Program is administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.
Dual Enrollment Hope Program
Through the Dual Enrollment Hope Program (for diplomas and/or technical certificates of credit) additional educational opportunities are provided to Georgia high school students. Students must be on track for high school graduation and meet SGTC admission requirements for the selected program of entry. Students successfully completing courses through this program can earn both college credit and high school credit toward graduation.

Joint Enrollment Program
The Joint Enrollment Program is for eligible Georgia high school juniors or seniors to enroll in SGTC courses after regular school hours. Courses taken through Joint Enrollment Program will be for post-secondary credit only.
Technical Advanced Placement (TAP)
TAP allows students the opportunity to receive technical college credits for selected courses taken while in high school. TAP status can be earned at SGTC by transferring high school coursework into a selected career major at SGTC.
To receive credit a student must:
- Complete the eligible high school course(s) with a grade of 80 or above
- Submit high school transcript to SGTC
- Meet the admissions requirements a SGTC
- Request to take a SGTC exemption test(s) and score a 70 or above
- Enroll at SGTC within two years of high school graduation
Students from Americus Sumter, Crisp County, Macon County, Schley County, Marion County, and Webster County High Schools are eligible to participate in the TAP program at SGTC. Students entering SGTC from other Georgia High Schools can submit high school transcripts to be reviewed for TAP credits as well.
