In the Heavy Equipment Dealer Service Technology (HEDST) program at South Georgia Technical College, you will learn how to service Caterpillar equipment using cutting-edge diagnostic and maintenance systems, advanced technologies, and high-tech tools. Graduates of the HEDST program (Think BIG) receive an associate degree in applied technology. The 100% Caterpillar designed curriculum combines classroom work with experiential learning -- learning by doing. No more sitting in class wondering if you're going to use what's being taught. Through hands-on work experience and training in state-of-the-art labs, you'll get to use what you've learned and you'll know why it's important. The HEDST Associate Degree Program is a two-year program, where participants alternate between periods of class work and on-the-job work experience at the student's sponsoring Caterpillar dealership. Technical and academic instruction is provided at South Georgia Technical College in Americus, Georgia.
