209 Job Seekers Attend Job Fair at SGTC

South Georgia Technical College (SGTC), in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Labor, hosted a job fair on the college’s Crisp County Center campus recently, bringing together 209 job seekers and 29 area employers. The job fair, held in the campus’ LaPorte Auditorium, lasted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and was open to SGTC students as well as the public.

The 29 employers in attendance looked to fill a range of jobs, ranging from forklift operators and welders to licensed practical nurses and correctional officers. Michelle McGowan, director of business and industry services for SGTC’s Crisp County Center, said that many employers were able to connect with viable candidates for employment within their companies and were pleased with the quality of job seekers who attended the event.

The 29 employers who attended included: Albany Primary Health Care, All State Truck Stop, Ambassador, Beacon Health Management, Big Tex Trailers, Cordele KOA, Cracker Barrel, Dooly State Prison, Easterseals Southern Ga, Flex-Tec Inc., Golden’s Foundry & Machine Co., Harris Professional Care, Harris Waste, Helena Industries, Ingo Money, Innovative Senior Solutions, Jerry’s Autobody Collision Repair, Inc., Labor Finders, Lake Blackshear Tax Pros/Stewart Financial Group, Magnolia Manor, Perlis Realty Company, Pruitt Health Hospice, Public Service Communications, Ramada Inn, Rescare Home Care, Southern Wholesale Glass, Inc., SGTC Adult Education, The Webstaurantstore and Tyson Foods.
