Advisory Committee for SGTC Crisp County Center Business Technology Programs Meets

Posted on

South Georgia Technical College recently held an advisory meeting for its Business Technology programs on SGTC's Crisp campus in the boardroom.

The Business Technology advisory committee members met with Business Technology instructors Teresa Jolly and Nicole Turner. The members reviewed all aspects of the program to ensure it is up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in the business and administrative technology industries.

The purpose of the advisory committee meetings is to provide expert support for the programs the committee represents. The meetings promote interaction among the programs, businesses, and industries served by the program. The faculty draws on the advisory committee's expertise to improve the programs' content and operations.

As committee members, individuals may serve as guest speakers in class, help arrange field trips for the program, assist with recruitment, provide on-the-job training for students, provide assistance with job placement for the students, and provide other services as the committee sees fit.

Members of the committee present at the advisory meeting were Kylee Little of Crisp County Power, Sarah Howell of Crisp County Power, Melinda Spillers of the City of Cordele, Tim Powers of Crisp Regional Hospital, and Mark Lewis of TCSG. In addition, Michelle McGowan, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Katrice Martin, Director of Institutional Effectiveness & Grants Coordinator, were present at the advisory meeting.
