Robert Cooper Nesselrotte of Buena Vista, GA, has been named as a South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) full-time welding instructor on the Americus campus, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. He will be joining Americus Welding Instructor Brad Aldridge and will report to Academic Dean Brett Murray and SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain.
Nesselrotte has been working part-time as an adjunct welding instructor at SGTC since 2024. He instructed students enrolled in the Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Dealers Service Technician program in Shielded Metal Art Welding and demonstrated proper setup, operation, and safety procedures and taught welding techniques in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
In addition to his adjunct welding duties at SGTC, Nesselrotte was also a Fabricator/Combination Welder for Heritage Equine Equipment in Box Springs, Georgia for the past two years. He is a South Georgia Technical College Gold Presidential Honor Graduate (3.9+ GPA) and has an Associate Degree in Technical Studies and a Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology. Nesselrotte was also a South Georgia Technical College Student of Excellence.
As a full-time welding instructor on the Americus campus, Nesselrotte will perform all teaching duties and demonstrate competencies, knowledge, and skills in the Welding program courses. He will be responsible for the evaluation of student performance progress, and procedural competences. He will help plan and organize instruction in the ways that maximize student learning in the Welding program as well as help recruit and market the program. He will also perform other duties as assigned.
