Students in the Cosmetology program at South Georgia Technical College continued expanding their skills this summer through additional demonstrations led by SGTC graduates and faculty, providing hands-on instruction in specialized techniques used throughout the beauty industry.
Recent SGTC Cosmetology graduate Alicia Knight returned to campus to present a bead extension tutorial, guiding students through the step-by-step process of applying hair extensions. The demonstration included hands-on instruction and highlighted professional techniques used in salon settings. Fellow SGTC Cosmetology graduate Courtney Catrett served as Knight's model during the presentation.
Students also learned barbering techniques from Andre Robinson, who demonstrated basic clipper cutting methods commonly used in the industry. Robinson introduced cosmetology students to proper clipper techniques and discussed how barbering skills can complement a cosmetologist's service offerings.
The demonstrations are part of an ongoing summer series designed to expose students to a variety of specialty services while connecting them with experienced professionals and SGTC alumni. In addition to reinforcing classroom instruction, the sessions provide students with practical knowledge and techniques they can apply as they prepare for careers in the beauty industry.
