The Electronics Advisory Committee at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently met in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus to discuss program updates and emerging trends within the electronics industry.

Advisory committees play a key role in helping SGTC maintain strong, industry-aligned programs. During the session, Electronics instructor Mike Collins shared updates on enrollment, curriculum revisions, community outreach activities, and student achievements.

Committee members offered feedback on several areas, including new developments in electronics technology, opportunities to enhance the curriculum, workforce training needs, and job prospects for graduates.

In attendance were Derrick Hill, Mario Sneed, Danny Harmon, and Mike Strickland of Global Cellulose Fibers and Electronics student Cameron Wilson. Representing SGTC were Academic Dean Dr. David Finley and Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs Melissa Hollis.

Through ongoing collaboration with industry professionals, SGTC continues to ensure its programs reflect current workforce expectations and equip students with the skills needed for success in the field.
