South Georgia Technical College faculty and staff members participated in the Furlow Charter School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Day recently.
Furlow Charter School’s Laura Gerlach Collins organized the event and invited SGTC and other community groups to come out and talk about STEM related fields to the high school, middle, and elementary school students.
The purpose of the STEM Day was to have more related fields present to show their students the options that are available here in Sumter County. Several of the instructors hosted classroom demonstrations and others talked about their program and how they related to STEM.
