South Georgia Technical College recently hosted a meeting of its Sports and Fitness Management Advisory Council in the James S. Peters Gymnasium on the Americus campus.
The council, made up of industry professionals, provides guidance to help ensure SGTC’s programs remain relevant and aligned with workforce needs. Members contribute their expertise by offering feedback on curriculum, evaluating equipment and training standards, and helping prepare students for careers in the field.
Those participating in the meeting included Jeff Fussell and Tim Estes of Sumter County Parks and Recreation, along with Brian Davis of MSA Orthopedics.
Representing SGTC were Jets Head Coach Chris Ballauer; Athletics Coordinator Terri Battle; Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs Melissa Hollis; and Academic Dean Dr. David Finley.
