Americus, GA – State Representative Patty Marie Stinson hosted a Law Enforcement Luncheon and Listening Session with law enforcement officials from throughout her district at South Georgia Technical College in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center.
Americus Mayor Travis Rush and South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford welcomed State Representative Stinson to Americus and South Georgia Technical College and also thanked the various law enforcement officials for their service and attendance at the luncheon meeting.
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to South Georgia Technical College for their continued partnership and commitment to strengthening public safety across our region,” said Representative Stinson. “Your dedication to training, education, and workforce development plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of law enforcement professionals and supporting the officers who serve our communities every day.”
Representative Stinson also thanked the law enforcement officers for “your presence, your service, and your unwavering commitment to protecting the people of Georgia. Your professionalism, courage, and resilience do not go unnoticed. We appreciate the sacrifices you make and the leadership you demonstrate, both in uniform and within the community.”
Law enforcement officers were encouraged to share their concerns or support for flock cameras, school zone cameras, recruitment, retention and officer wellness, as well as interagency coordination, and growing mental-health needs in local jails. Representative Stinson pledged her support and thanked them again for educating her on their needs and concerns.
