Iliana Yanez-Virgen of Americus has been promoted to the Administrative Services Coordinator at South Georgia Technical College, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford recently. She was serving as an Accounts Payable Technician at SGTC prior to accepting her new position. She will report to Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe and Accounting Director Danyel Tobias Reid.
Yanez-Virgen worked for Citizens Bank of Americus as an Accounting Clerk prior to joining South Georgia Technical College as an Accounting Technician. She is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a graduate of Schley County High School. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Accounting at Georgia Southwestern State University.
As the Administrative Services Coordinator at SGTC, Yanez-Virgen will be responsible for providing coordination and administrative oversight of key operational and financial functions for the college. This position assists with the coordination and oversight of procurement, accounts payable, asset management, bookstore operations, insurance, budget and grant reviews, inventory control, and financial reporting. Other duties will include: assigning, planning and directing activities to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with established procedures. She will review and approve expense accounts, leave requests, and travel requests to ensure conformity with established policies and procedures in addition to other duties as assigned.
She is married to Carlos Virgen and they reside in Americus.
