The SGTC Office of Student Affairs held a "Lucky Bamboo" activity recently on the Americus campus for students returning for fall semester. Participants had the opportunity to create their own unique, decorative bamboo arrangements they can use to spruce up their living spaces and, according to tradition, bring good fortune. Tom Jones accepts new position at SGTC.   South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford announced that Tom Jones of Ellaville has been named as the SGTC Information System Administrator. SGTC President Emeritus Sparky Reeves passed away as his home on August 2, 2023.   Gary Lamar “Sparky” Reeves, 74, who served as President of South Georgia Technical College from August 2004 through September 2015, passed away at his home on August 2, 2023.  His funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 at First Methodist Church, 200 South Lee Street in Americus, GA.  A graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery on Rees Street in Americus.
