Two nationally ranked teams playing in Pete Arrington Classic
The South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets will be hosting five other teams in the Pete Arrington Classic basketball tournament November 28 – 30 in the James S. Peters Gymnasium and two of the six teams are currently ranked in the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Top 25 Women’s Basketball poll.
Walters State Lady Senators are currently ranked 7th in the nation and the Florida Southwestern Buccaneers were seated 17th in the NJCAA Top 25 rankings this week. None of the other four teams have cracked the NJCAA national poll so far.
The tournament will open on Friday, November 28th at 4 p.m. with Albany Tech facing Motlow State. Central Georgia Technical College will take on Walters State at 6 p.m. and the SGTC Lady Jets will match-up with the Florida Southwestern Buccaneers are at 8 p.m.
Action will begin again on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Albany Tech and Walters State kicking off the day. Central Georgia Tech will play Florida Southwestern at 5 p.m. Saturday and the SGTC Lady Jets and Motlow State will meet in the 7 p.m. game.
On Sunday, there will only be two games. Albany Tech will match-up against Florida Southwestern at 1 p.m. and Central Georgia Tech and Motlow State will wrap-up the tournament with the 3 p.m. game.
Neither the Jets or the Lady Jets will play at home until December 28 when the Lady Jets host St. Petersburg College at 7 p.m. Then the Lady Jets will play Chipola College at 8 p.m. on December 29th in the Lady Jets Holiday Classic. They will also play Eastern Florida State at 7 p.m. on December 30th as part of the Lady Jets Holiday Classic.
