Mattie H. Marshall Foundation supports the SGTC Foundation “Creating Opportunities” TechForce Drive

The Mattie H. Marshall Foundation awarded the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Foundation with a $35,000 grant in support of its “Creating Opportunities” TechForce 2025 fund campaign.

The Mattie Marshall Foundation will help support success for students attending South Georgia Technical College by providing funds for equipment for the Diesel Equipment Technology program, equipment for the new LPN to RN Bridge program, renovation and classroom space for the James S. Peters gymnasium as well as textbooks, and scholarships for academically deserving and financially disadvantaged students.

“On behalf of South Georgia Technical College and the South Georgia Technical College Foundation, I would like to thank the Mattie H. Marshall Foundation for their support of our college and our students,” said President Dr. John Watford. “South Georgia Technical College has enjoyed tremendous success because of the support of individuals and organizations like the Mattie H. Marshall Foundation. We thank you for your willingness to help ‘Create Opportunities’ for our students through this wonderful grant.”

The Mattie H. Marshall Foundation supports educational, religious, and human-service related organizations n Americus, GA. It provides program support, project support, capital support and general operating. Grants are restricted to organizations serving Americus, Sumter County and the Southwest Georgia region.
