The Americus Sisterhood Group recently demonstrated the power of community service and collective impact through a generous donation of personal hygiene items to the Jets Student Hygiene Pantry at South Georgia Technical College.
This meaningful contribution helps ensure that students have access to essential everyday items, reducing barriers that may affect their ability to focus on academic success. The Jets Pantry provides ongoing support, allowing students to select needed items on a bi-monthly basis and reinforcing the college’s commitment to student well-being and retention.
The donation was made possible through the generosity and leadership of Mary Lusane Cross, SGTC Marketing Instructor; Dorothea Lusane McKenzie, SGTC Cosmetology Instructor; Tracy Lusane Finch; Monica Lusane; Ann Lusane Sims; Tanaglia Lynn Robinson; Dr. Shariah McKenzie Solomon; Tiffany Laster Lusane; Nicole Austin Lusane; LaTwinthia Hinton; and Dee Harvey.
“This effort reflects the strength of sisterhood and the importance of giving back to support student success,” said Mary Lusane Cross. “By addressing basic needs, we are helping students remain focused, confident, and prepared to achieve their educational goals.”
The Americus Sisterhood Group continues to serve as a model of community engagement, demonstrating how local partnerships can make a lasting difference in the lives of students.
