SGTC Diesel Equipment Technology Advisory Committee Meets

The Diesel Equipment Technology advisory committee at South Georgia Technical College recently met in the Morgan Transportation Building on the Americus campus to review program updates and discuss current needs within the field. Program instructor Chase Shannon led the meeting and shared information on program developments and future priorities.

SGTC advisory committees are made up of local business and industry representatives who have a vested interest in the success of the programs. These members volunteer their time to provide insight into workplace expectations and help the college stay informed about changes within their respective industries.

Through this collaboration, advisory committees serve as an important connection between the college and the workforce. Their feedback helps instructors stay current with evolving technology and industry practices, ensuring that SGTC students are well prepared to enter their careers upon graduation.

Members of the diesel committee present at the recent meeting were: Tim Nelson, Service Manager, and Imani Cotton, Mobile Service Technician, of Worldwide Equipment; Charles Armstrong, Area General Manager, and Shaun Roberts, Service Manager, of United Rentals; David Goforth, General Service Manager, of Atlantic & Southern Equipment; and Ricky Crook, Dealer Account Executive/Sales, of Cummins Sales and Service.
