South Georgia Technical College instructors recently participated in Crisp County Primary School’s annual Community Craze Day, helping introduce local kindergarten students to a variety of career pathways through hands-on learning experiences.

The event, which serves approximately 280 kindergarten students each year, is designed to expose young learners to different professions within the Crisp County area. Held on the school campus, Community Craze Day allows students to interact with professionals and explore careers through engaging demonstrations.

According to Michelle McGowan, South Georgia Technical College Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Economic Development Director, SGTC instructors from a range of program areas took part in the event, providing students with an early look at technical careers and the skills associated with them.

The event also featured participation from several local businesses and agencies, including the Crisp County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia State Patrol, Chick-fil-A, Harris American, and other community partners.

Community Craze Day is coordinated each year by Crisp County Primary School kindergarten teacher Kaye Davis, who organizes the event to help students begin exploring future career possibilities at an early age.

South Georgia Technical College continues to support community outreach efforts that promote career awareness and hands-on learning opportunities for students of all ages. Learn more about programs and opportunities at www.southgatech.edu. Summer semester begins May 27. Apply now.
