Each semester, instructors nominate one student from their program area who has exhibited high standards academically, socially, and professionally. The student who receives the honor has shown a dedication to hard work and a commitment to excellence.
Chappell received a $50 financial award, engraved personal plaque, congratulatory letter from SGTC President Dr. John Watford, and a Student of Excellence T-shirt for his accomplishment. A Student of Excellence banner will also be hung in the Culinary Arts program area until the next Student of Excellence is named.
