CHSGa has presented the South Georgia Technical College Foundation with a $6,000 donation to provide scholarships to qualified students enrolled in the SGTC Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
“On behalf of South Georgia Technical College and the South Georgia Technical College Foundation, I would like to thank the CHSGa organization for this generous gift to our practical nursing students,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. “Your gift will benefit students, but it also benefits each and every community where these students ultimately work and it will directly affect the lives of the patients they serve. Thank you for the investment in the education of our nursing students and in the future of healthcare.”
CHSGa is a non-profit healthcare system delivering comprehensive health services and programs including; skilled nursing care, hospice care, home health services, transitional care services, acute care, rehabilitation therapy, pharmacy services, medical supply distribution, mobile imaging and emergency transportation services.
“Our mission is providing Georgia direct access to health services. Through the CHSGa Practical Nursing Scholarship we can help a student achieve his or her educational and career goals. This scholarship is an important part of fulfilling our commitment to workforce growth and development within the healthcare profession,” says Ronnie Rollins, President and CEO of CHSGa.
At least two CHSGA Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the South Georgia Technical College Practical Nursing program each semester as long as funds are available. To apply for the scholarships, students must be in good academic standing and provide a complete application with a faculty recommendation as well as a written statement of need. The scholarship funds may be used to support needs related to enrollment in the program such as tuition, books, uniforms, licensing exams and more.
