Elizabeth Lumpkin of Coleman, Ga. has been named adjunct instructor of Cosmetology at South Georgia Technical College’s Americus Campus, SGTC President Dr. John Watford recently announced. As an adjunct instructor, Lumpkin will provide instruction to students in the cosmetology courses under general supervision from program instructor Dorothea McKenzie. She will also report to Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers.

Lumpkin graduated from SGTC’s Cosmetology program in 2016 with a 4.0 GPA. During her time as a student, she served as the cosmetology program’s SGA representative, was nominated for the Student of Excellence award and placed second in SGTC’s annual hairstyling competition.

Prior to her time as a student at SGTC, Lumpkin attended Georgia Southwestern State University where she studied business management and served as the Vice President of Operations for the Kappa Delta sorority.

Upon graduation from SGTC, Lumpkin began practicing as a licensed master cosmetologist at Sharon’s Hairstyles in Cuthbert, Ga.

Lumpkin lives in Coleman and is engaged to Myles Gay.

The South Georgia Technical College cosmetology program is one year in length and has a 100% pass rate for the licensure program.
