Kauffman Tire, a family owned and operated retail and wholesale tire distribution company with over 60 locations in Georgia and North Florida, is offering full and partial scholarships to individuals interested in attending a 16-week educational program at South Georgia Technical College in Americus, GA. Scholarship recipients are guaranteed an interview for employment with Kauffman Tire upon successful completion of the program that includes classroom and lab or internship opportunities.
South Georgia Technical College, which has on-campus housing, is providing training for the Kauffman Tire technicians through its Automotive Chassis and Climate Control Specialist classes in the Automotive Technology program. During the 16-week program, students receive hands-on training in labs built to replicate Kauffman Tire labs and stores.
“This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with little or no experience, looking for an entry level position that can lead to a lucrative career with a third-generation leader in the retail automotive service industry,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. “South Georgia Technical College is excited about this partnership and the new scholarship incentives for incoming students. Selected students can receive training at little or no cost and be eligible for a career in just 16-weeks. That is a win for the student, the college, and for Kauffman Tire.”
Theron Garcia, Vice President of Human Resources for Kauffman Tire, said the company is looking for individuals who want to be a part of a vibrant, growing business, that is service oriented and is closed on Sundays. “We are more than just a neighborhood tire store,” said Garcia. “Whether it’s an oil change, preventative maintenance, replacing brakes, a wheel alignment or just a simple tire rotation, our expert technicians can help keep your vehicle running in top condition. Our associates are ready to provide your automotive needs to keep you on the road safely. And we are looking for individuals who want to be a part of this great team.”
Kauffman has opened stores in the Cordele and the Albany area and is currently opening additional stores throughout South Georgia, North Florida, and the Eastern United States. Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to interview for a full-time position with Kauffman Tire.
