Name: Kristoria Wilson

High School: Americus Sumter High School South Campus

MOWR Program: Criminal Justice Technology (Associate’s Degree)

Advisor: Teresa McCook

Total MOWR savings: $5,963

Kristoria’s advisor, Teresa McCook, helped her find an internship opportunity at the local District Attorney’s office, where she enjoys working with attorneys and investigators on different cases. She also enjoys being able to tell other students about the Move On When Ready program and the opportunities it provides for high school students.

“I really like the fact that I’m saving so much time with Move On When Ready, and my parents really like the cost savings,” she said.

Kristoria has already earned three Technical Certificates of Credit in the SGTC MOWR program, and is excited to graduate with her Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice Technology. She plans to continue her education by earning a Bachelor’s Degree at either Georgia State University or Valdosta State University and becoming a Crime Scene Investigator. She hopes to eventually move somewhere sunny to start her career, and is thinking of either Miami or Malibu.

Move On When Ready (MOWR) is a program that allows high school students to earn college credit while still in high school, and possibly graduate with an associate’s degree at the same time they graduate with their high school diploma. While enrolled in MOWR, students and their parents do not have to pay out of pocket for tuition, saving parents thousands of dollars in educational costs for their high schoolers.
