South Georgia Technical College is encouraging all students and prospective students to take advantage of this down time during the COVID-19 outbreak to go online and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA).

Current students and prospective students who are interested in attending summer semester and/or fall semester at SGTC can go ahead and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) today. Revisions to federal Pell Grant financial aid disbursements could mean a greater yearly award for South Georgia Technical College students who attend fall, spring and summer semesters.

“The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a wonderful way to get help paying for college,” said South Georgia Technical College Financial Aid Director Kelly Everett. “Current students attending summer semester must fill out the 2019-2020 FASFA form now so it can be applied to their summer term bill. Then all new and returning students also need to apply or reapply for financial aid for fall semester by filling out the 2020-2021 FASFA.”

Instructions on how to fill out the FASFA and what documents students need can be located on the South Georgia Technical College website at www.southgatech.edu.  An informational video on the financial aid link will walk students through the process in a step by step fashion.  The video link can be found at: https://southgatech.edu/admissions/financial-aid/
