The National Technical Honor Society is set to hold its sixth annual "Giving Tree" drive.

The South Georgia Technical College chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) will be displaying its sixth annual “Holiday Giving Tree” in Hicks Hall on the Americus campus between Nov. 16 and Dec. 1. The purpose of the tree is to provide assistance to students who demonstrate a need during the Holiday season.

The tree will display marked ornaments that represent the needs of a family or individual. Each marked ornament will contain information regarding the needs of an SGTC student or the age, gender and size of their child or children. Gifts purchased should be delivered to Campus Safety in Hicks Hall by Friday, Dec. 2.

South Georgia Tech students will have the opportunity to be selected to receive gifts for their children or themselves by filling out an application and demonstrating through a short written statement the circumstances surrounding their need for assistance. Applications may be picked up from the office of Linda Edge located in Hicks Hall. Applications are due Wednesday, Nov. 8.

The National Technical Honor Society honors the achievements of students within workforce education, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive workforce.
