SGTC Cordele Campus NTHS inducts new members

South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recently held an Induction Ceremony in the LaPorte Auditorium. The ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of the fifteen students who were inducted.

Those students include Joshua Chappell of Cordele, Culinary Arts; Brian Fennell of Arabi, Electrical Systems Technology; Jessica Fudge of Vienna, Business Technology; Troy Gilliam of Leslie, Electrical Systems Technology; Cheryl Greer of Cordele, Computer Information Systems; Dakota Hall of Cordele, Computer Information Systems; Dontavious Harrell of Cordele, Criminal Justice Technology; Rick Hopper of Pitts, Welding and Joining Technology; Ja’Bria Hutchins of Cordele, Criminal Justice Technology; Jasmin Laidler of Vienna, Marketing Management; Ethan Phillips of Pitts, Welding and Joining Technology; Christian Powell of Cordele, Computer Information Systems; Brandon Wildes of Cordele, Electrical Systems Technology; Ramona Williams of Cordele, Criminal Justice Technology; and Felicia Young of Vienna, Culinary Arts.

Julie Partain, Dean of Enrollment Management, welcomed everyone in attendance. Dontavious Harrell, NTHS member, then gave the invocation.  Katrice Taylor, NTHS Advisor, stated the purpose of NTHS and Maria Rivera, NTHS President and state officer, spoke about NTHS’s motto, colors and emblem. NTHS Advisor Kari Bodrey then gave a video presentation. NTHS members Cheryl Greer, Troy Gilliam, Brian Fennell, Felicia Young, Joshua Chappell, Ramona Williams, Christian Powell, and Dakota Hall participated in the candle lighting ceremony. Kari Bodrey and Katrice Taylor then presented certificates to the inductees, and to close the program, the inductees stated the pledge of membership.

The National Technical Honor Society honors the achievements of students within workforce education, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive workforce.
