South Georgia Technical College’s Student Government Association (SGA) Crisp County chapter recently held a Mardi Gras themed student activity in the Crisp County Center’s LaPorte Auditorium. All SGTC students who attended received a door prize and snacks that the Culinary Arts department provided. Students wearing purple, green or gold took part in a group photo and received a special prize. Students also enjoyed Name That Tune Trivia with Ross and Jimmy.

The LaPorte Auditorium was decorated in the Mardi Gras theme of purple, green, and gold, and students enjoyed décor that made them feel as if they were in the middle of New Orleans.

The Student Government Association consists of a representative from each program. From the representatives, five officers are selected and serve a one year term. The SGA meets the first Wednesday of every month to approve expenditures of student activity fees, coordinate activities, and address issues of concerns to students.

SGTC’s student clubs organize several fun events for students each month.
