South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center campus students recently organized several community outreach projects for the holidays, including Adopt an Angel, Mail for Heroes, and a purple ribbon tree for those affected by cancer.

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program led an effort to fill boxes of toys for the Adopt an Angel program to benefit the community’s children in need. The Welding and Joining Technology program played a large part in the signing of over 250 holiday cards to be distributed to service members, veterans, and military families through the American Red Cross’s Holidays for Heroes program. Additionally, SGTC’s Crisp County Center chapter for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) displayed a tribute tree with purple ribbons either in honor of or in memory of those who have been affected by cancer.

SGTC students participate in year-round community service projects, especially those involved in clubs and organizations such as NTHS, the Student Government Association (SGA),

“Thanks to the amazing students, faculty, and staff on the Crisp County Center campus, all three holiday community outreach projects were a success,” said SGTC Admissions Coordinator and NTHS Advisor Kari Bodrey.
