SGTC fall semester registration underway

South Georgia Technical College is currently holding registration for fall semester. Orientation and early registration were held on Thursday, July 14th, and SGTC’s Americus and Crisp County Center campuses were overflowing with new and returning students. Both campuses will continue open registration and orientation sessions on Thursday, August 11th, but new students can apply any time. On registration day, orientation sessions are held at 9:30am, 1:30pm, and 5pm for students’ convenience. South Georgia Tech’s fall semester begins Monday, August 15th.

Additional financial aid is available to HOPE eligible students in the following programs through the SIWDG (Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant): Commercial Truck Driving, Diesel Equipment Technology, Early Childhood Care and Education, Electronics Technology, Industrial Systems Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Medical Coding, Networking Specialist, Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy Technician, Practical Nursing, and Welding and Joining Technology. SGTC offers over 200 degree, diploma, and certificate programs. South Georgia Tech continues to offer textbooks at no cost to students (excluding consumables such as workbooks and other supplies) through the Free Books program.

South Georgia Technical College was recently ranked sixth in the Best Two Year Colleges in Georgia report published by Best Colleges in Georgia. SGTC’s Practical Nursing program was also recently ranked among the top five in Georgia for 2016 by Accredited Schools Online. “South Georgia Tech’s number one priority is our students, and we feel that these recent accolades reflect that,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. “We train these students to be better prepared for the workforce, and there are a lot of high demand careers out there for our students when they graduate.”
