SGTC Jets Basketball Player Signs Letter of Intent

South Georgia Technical College sophomore basketball player Merdy Bata, a 7’ post player from Kinshasa, Congo, has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN next season.

SGTC Head Coach Travis Garrett and Bata’s Jets teammates were on hand for the signing to show their support.

Bata and the Jets continue their quest to return to the NJCAA Region XVII tournament for the fifth consecutive year when they take on Action Sports Academy December 3rd in the Hangar on the Americus campus. Those who attend SGTC’s free “Light Up Your Future” event that evening will be granted admission to the game at no charge.

“Light Up Your Future” begins at 5:30 p.m., and the Jets game tips off at 7:00.
