SGTC Lady Jets meet with Japanese delegation visiting Americus

Members of the South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets basketball team had the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the Japanese delegation from Miyoshi City, Japan during a special welcome reception to Americus event.
South Georgia Technical College sophomore point guard Kanna Suzuki from Hammastsu, Japan, spoke to the delegation in their native language and welcomed them to the Americus community. She also shared some of her experiences as a member of the nationally ranked Lady Jets basketball team and about living in Americus, Georgia, for the past year. Other international players from the South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets basketball team also met with the delegation. Those players included returning sophomore forward Hulfat Mahouchiza from Nice, France, returning sophomore forward Esther Adenike from Lagos, Nigeria, as well as newcomer Fatou Pouye of Senegal West Africa. Returning players Davesha Murray of Brunswick, Georgia, a point guard, and Sceret Ethridge, a forward of Argyle, GA also met with the Japanese delegation.
The delegation included both adults and students from Japan and they had the opportunity to meet with Americus Mayor Barry Blount as well as members of the City Council and local educational system.
