SGTC Moves to Single Sign On Format for Students

A student logs into her account using the new Single Sign On method. Students will have one username and password across all of their South Georgia Tech student accounts.

In a move to streamline and simplify the login process for its students, South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) has moved to a Single Sign On format for the Banner Web, Blackboard and email systems on its website. As a result, students will now be able to access all three areas of the website with the same username and password.

In the past, students used their unique student ID (9000#) and a PIN number to log into each area of the website. With the Single Sign On format, the login and password will change. When students return to classes on August 20, they will log in to all of their SGTC accounts by using one username and password. The username will be the first part of the student’s email address (everything before the @ symbol), and the password will be created by the student upon logging into their email account for the first time.

In order to log in successfully using the Single Sign On format, the student will need to have logged in to their SGTC student email account at least one time prior.

Students can find links to Banner Web, Blackboard and Student Email at the top of the homepage and on the “Current Student” section of the South Georgia Tech website.

Students who need assistance with the login process can visit the library on either campus for one-on-one help this week (ending August 24). Help will be offered on the Americus campus from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 22, and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 24. Additional arrangements can be made if necessary.

South Georgia Tech is still accepting applications for admission for the Fall 2018 semester. Individuals who are interested in applying can take advantage of the college’s one-stop admissions process in which they can apply, test and register for classes in one day.
