In a recent workshop for students at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) in Americus, students learned strategies for managing their time in order to be successful in school, on the job, and at life in general.

Dr. Deborah Jones, SGTC Assistant Vice President of Student Navigation, presented the workshop in the Hicks Hall Life Lab on the Americus campus. Dr. Jones told the students in attendance that effective time management is essential if they want to complete their education and achieve their dreams.

After surveying students on how they currently tend to spend their time, Dr. Jones proceeded to offer techniques they could employ to be as efficient as possible.

Among other tips, she encouraged students to prioritize their obligations and activities and schedule the most important items first. Dr. Jones also stressed to students the importance of sticking to their schedules to ensure they stay on course. She also told the students to be sure and set aside time for relaxation and fun in order to maintain a healthy life balance.
