After reviewing dozens of entries, South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) has determined a winner for the Bobblehead ACE social media contest. Ashley Holland of Cordele, a medical assisting student on the Americus campus, received 399 interactions (likes, comments, shares) on her pictures, making her the winner of the contest. Holland will receive a $250 scholarship that will be applied towards her tuition costs.

The contest was announced on Sept. 25 and encouraged students on both campuses, faculty and staff members, as well as community members, to show their college pride by taking a picture with the new life-size Bobblehead ACE and sharing it to social media. Anyone who took a picture with ACE was asked to screenshot their post, including the number of interactions with the post, and email it to the college’s “sgtc411@southgatech.edu” email address. Only the submissions that were emailed on or before Oct. 26 were considered.

While they didn’t gain the most interactions overall, SGTC staff member Charlene Williams and SGTC Foundation board member George Bryce placed at the top of the faculty/staff and community members list – earning them an honorable mention. Williams gained 54 interactions with her Facebook post, and Bryce gained 223 interactions with his Facebook post.

Total, the submissions that were submitted amassed over 2,000 interactions across Facebook and Instagram.

SGTC appreciates the participation from the student body, faculty, staff and community members who took the time to pose with Bobblehead ACE. Although the contest is over, supporters are still encouraged to find ACE on campus, snap a picture with him and share it with the college through social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter: @SouthGaTech).
