Marketing (MM12) Diploma
Description:
The Marketing Management program is designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in today’s marketing and management fields. The Marketing Management program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and ever-evolving occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or to retrain in marketing management. Graduates of the program receive a Marketing Management diploma with specializations in marketing management, entrepreneurship, social media marketing, sports marketing management, and retail management.
Entrance date: Each semester
Program Admission Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Achievement of appropriate scores on the college's placement test or submission of acceptable SAT or ACT scores is currently being waived.
Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

Emphasizes the application of basic mathematical skills used in the solution of occupational and technical problems. Topics include fractions, decimals, percents, ratios and proportions, measurement and conversion, formula manipulation, technical applications, and basic statistics. |

Emphasizes human relations and professional development in today's rapidly changing world that prepares students for living and working in a complex society. Presents basic concepts within the field of psychology and their application to everyday human behavior, thinking, and emotion. Emphasis is placed on students understanding basic psychological principles and their application within the context of family, work and social interactions. Topics include an overview of psychology as a science, the nervous and sensory systems, learning and memory, motivation and emotion, intelligence, lifespan development, personality, psychological disorders and their treatment, stress and health, and social relations. |

Topics include: purposes of promotion and IMC, principles of promotion and Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), budgeting, regulations and controls, media evaluation and target market selection, integrated marketing plans, trends in promotion, and promotion and communication career paths. |

Prerequisite: COMP 1000 This course covers the knowledge and skills required to use design and digital publishing software as well as design and create business publications, collaterals and digital presences. Course work will include course demonstrations, laboratory exercises and projects. Topics include: digital publishing concepts, basic graphic design, publication layout, web page design, and practical digital applications. |

Prerequisite: MKTG 1100 This course reiterates the program outcomes for marketing management through the development of a marketing plan. Topics include: the marketing framework, the marketing plan, and preparing a marketing plan for a new product. This course is the capstone course for the Marketing Management program and requires successful completion of a project (Marketing Plan). |
