   Javarise Jamele Terry of Americus has been hired as a full-time Campus Safety Officer at South Georgia Technical College, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford.  He will report to Campus Safety Director Sammy Stone and SGTC Vice President of Student Affairs Eulish Kinchens. He will start immediately.

   Terry worked as a part-time Campus Safety Officer at South Georgia Technical College from August 2020 until February 2021. He is a graduate of the South Georgia Technical College Law Enforcement Academy and Americus-Sumter County High School.  He is also pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University (online).

   He has also completed Campus Security Training and National Incident Management Service and the Georgia Unarmed and Armed Security Officer training and is currently training in Georgia Private Investigations.

   As a full-time campus safety officer, Terry will be responsible for the care and safety of SGTC faculty, staff, and students as well as South Georgia Technical College property.  He will provide security for events, coordinate with other law enforcement officers and patrol the campus.  He will also respond to emergency situations as well as write reports.
