Scot Phillips, a representative of Icon Shears, recently visited the South Georgia Technical College Cosmetology program to provide a hands-on demonstration of professional-grade shears and share words of encouragement with students.

During his visit, Phillips emphasized the importance of staying committed to learning and being open to coaching. “Study hard, work hard, and be coachable,” he advised, highlighting traits that contribute to long-term success in the cosmetology industry.

Cosmetology Instructor Dorothea Lusane McKenzie expressed appreciation for the opportunity, stating, “I am always so excited to bring industry professionals to our cosmetology program. It allows my students to stay informed of all the ever-changing technology in this field.”

The demonstration not only introduced students to advanced tools but also reinforced the value of professionalism and continued education as they prepare for careers in the beauty industry.
