SGTC Nursing Department wins Homecoming Banner Contest

   The South Georgia Technical College Practical Nursing Department garnered the most social media votes and won the Homecoming Banner Contest as part of the SGTC Homecoming, Alumni, and Sophomore Day activities held recently.  The Practical Nursing students and their instructors will receive a free pizza party as their prize.

   Each program area was given the opportunity to submit a banner as part of the Homecoming festivities.  Nursing, Cosmetology, Caterpillar Heavy Equipment, Criminal Justice, and the Crisp County Center each turned in outstanding banners.

   All of the banners displayed program pride, positivity and team spirit.  They were all so good that a decision was made to let the community be the final judges for the winning banner.  Over 300 votes were cast on Facebook, X, and Instagram and while all five banners received votes, Nursing won by an almost two to one margin over the second-runner up Cosmetology group.

   The other three banners, Caterpillar, Crisp County, and Criminal Justice were all very close.  All five banners were displayed around the gymnasium for the alumni and fans to enjoy as part of the Homecoming festivities which featured the Jets and Lady Jets facing off against the Albany Tech Titans and Lady Titans.
