April Zimmerman named SGTC Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs

April L. Zimmerman of Andersonville has been selected as the new Administrative Assistant for the Vice President of Academic Affairs at South Georgia Technical College, announced President Dr. John Watford.  Zimmerman will report to Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers.        The South Georgia Technical College graduate has worked as a PharmaCentra – Operations Specialist/Customer Service Representative as well as a Transcriptionist/Front Desk assistant for an Attorney at Law and as a summer intern with the District Attorney.  She begins her new duties at South Georgia Tech immediately.        Zimmerman has an Associate of Applied Science Degree from South Georgia Technical College.  She was an active member of the SkillsUSA local and state organizations as well as a member of the National Technical Honors Society.  She was also named to the President’s List for her high academic performance.  Zimmerman has also studied Paralegal Studies at Darton College.        As the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, April Zimmerman will be performing tasks and assignments associated with personnel support functions for the Academic Affairs office, provide support to staff, generate reports, maintain databases, monitor use and maintain supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned work unit or program area.       She and her finance, Stephen Hilliard, have one daughter, Hadley Hilliard.  She is the daughter of Virginia Newcomb and Roger Zimmerman.  April, her finance, and her parents are all graduates of South Georgia Technical College.  April also has four brothers, Charlie and Robbie Zimmerman and Curtis and Kyle Newcomb.
