The Architectural and Engineering Drawing Technology (Drafting) program Advisory Committee at South Georgia Technical College recently held its fall semester meeting in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus. Industry representatives met with SGTC faculty and staff to review program updates and discuss continued improvements to the college’s drafting curriculum.

Instructor Kristie Hudson shared updates on enrollment, instructional advancements, and efforts to keep coursework aligned with evolving workforce expectations. She highlighted how the program continues to adapt to industry standards and technological developments.

Committee members in attendance included Carolyn Hudson, retired electrical designer from Technical Associates; Angie Wiseman, FSC and independent sprinkler systems designer; and Han Ching Wu, President of Spring PreCast LLC. SGTC representatives included Academic Dean Dr. David Finley, Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Grants Coordinator Katrice Martin, WIOA Coordinator Sandhya Muljibhai, and Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Melissa Hollis.

The advisory committee serves as a vital link between the classroom and the workplace. Through discussion of emerging trends, software advancements, and technical skill requirements, committee members provide valuable guidance that helps ensure SGTC graduates are prepared to enter the workforce with relevant, in-demand skills.
