Dr. Michael Busman is a Family Medicine and Sports Medicine physician. He received an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He furthered his education and went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. After receiving his MD degree, he then completed a family medicine residency program in Columbus, Georgia. Afterwards, he went on to the University of South Carolina and completed a fellowship in sports medicine – dealing with all of their athletic programs. Upon completion of the program, he started his practice in Americus, Georgia – doing both family and sports medicine. He has remained in Americus ever since and has enjoyed 18 years of successful practice.
Busman is well involved in the community and is currently the chairman of the Sumter County Board of Education. He has been the team physician at South Georgia Technical College since its inception of basketball. He is also the team physician for multiple local high schools and Georgia Southwestern State University. He is an active member of the Phoebe Sumter medical staff has treated athletes all the way from kids to Olympians. He is married to Dianne and has 4 children. In 2010, he was named family physician of year for Georgia by his colleagues. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has as a Certificate of Specialized Qualifications in Sports Medicine. He has also received multiple community service awards for his dedication and commitment to Sumter County and surrounding areas.
Brian Davis, an employee of MSA Orthopedics in Albany, GA, has provided athletic training services for the Lady Jets and Jets of South Georgia Technical College since fall of 2004. Prior to coming to Americus to work with MSA Orthopedics, Brian was the head athletic trainer for Valdosta High School, Valdosta, GA.
Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training, as well as health and physical education certification from Valdosta State University. He obtained a Master of Science in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania.
A nationally certified and State of Georgia licensed athletic trainer, Davis is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA) and Georgia Athletic Trainers Association (GATA).
He is married to Audra Davis and they have two children Anna and Jordan.
