Camryn Lynn of Americus hired as SGTC Associate of Science Nursing Instructor
Camryn Lynn of Americus is joining South Georgia Technical College as a full-time Associate of Science in Nursing Instructor, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. She will report to SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain, and LPN to RN Nursing Director Darrell Thompson. She will be housed on the Americus campus.
South Georgia Technical College’s LPN to RN Bridge program began Fall Semester. Camryn Lynn will be joining Dr. Shayla Collier of Cordele as the full-time instructors for the LPN to RN Bridge program. They will be responsible for fulfilling both teaching and non-teaching activities as part of this new program. They will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses to achieve program goals and objectives that adhere to state and institutional standards as well as accrediting agency requirements. They will also evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives prescribed in curriculum. Assistance with enrollment, retention and job placement efforts for the LPN to RN Bridge program as well as other duties as assigned will be included with their responsibilities.

Lynn brings over three years of nursing experience to this position. She is currently working as the Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse for the Georgia Recovery Campus in Reynolds, Georgia. She is completing the Master of Science in Nursing Education from Georgia Southwestern State University this term and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from GSW. She also has Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications.
In addition to working with the Georgia Recovery Campus in Reynolds, Georgia, Lynn has worked as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (Level II, Trauma Center) and as a Circulating Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
