South Georgia Technical College Police Chief Sammy Stone was the guest speaker for the SGTC Welding and Air Conditioning Technology programs recently during a breakfast hosted by Welding and Joining Instructor Ted Eschmann and Air Conditioning Technology Instructor Johnny Griffin.

The instructors provided the students with a home-cooked breakfast to kick off the summer semester and invited Chief Stone to come and meet with students and give them a chance to talk with him and ask questions about his office and role.  SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain also joined the classes.

Chief Stone took the opportunity to educate students about the role of the SGTC Campus Police and Safety Department and its officers.  He talked with students about safety and crime prevention information and also outlined steps to help insure personal safety, fire safety, and alcohol/drug issues as well as other preventative measures.

He also had a question and answer session to allow students to ask questions or concerns.
