South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center recently welcomed a group of fifth-grade students from Crisp County Elementary School for an engaging, hands-on learning experience. In partnership with Chattahoochee-Flint RESA, SGTC faculty and staff guided students through hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities that offered an engaging introduction to various career fields.

During their visit, the students worked alongside SGTC Culinary Arts students and instructors to bake chocolate chip cookies, then moved to the auditorium where they created beaded bracelets and explored basic electronics by assembling simple circuit boards. This visit marked the first of five student groups scheduled to visit the campus this semester as part of an ongoing effort to introduce younger learners to the possibilities of technical education through fun and interactive activities.

South Georgia Technical College offers over 200 programs including many in STEM fields. Learn more and apply for admission to SGTC at www.southgatech.edu.
