Georgia Power is hiring lineworkers, and South Georgia Technical College offers the training candidates need to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity.  Students who are interested in this career can attend South Georgia Technical College for eight weeks and have the opportunity for the career of a life-time.  South Georgia Tech also has on-campus housing available.

A lineworker for Georgia Power can expect excellent pay and benefits. An apprentice lineworker can earn over $40,000 a year (plus overtime) to start. There are advancement opportunities with Journeyman Lineworkers starting at over $78,000 (plus overtime) and Crew Leaders earning over $85,000 (plus overtime). South Georgia Technical College’s eight week Electrical Lineworker training program is held on the Americus Campus. This program is designed to teach students the skills they need to begin their careers quickly with Georgia Power and other partner utility companies. Over 500 students have graduated from the Electrical Lineworker program at SGTC, and the program has a 99% job placement rate.
